Free AVI Player is a very simple utility that allows the playback of AVI video files. Since AVI is a pretty popular video format, I'm sure there are plenty of users that are looking for such a tool, especially since it's presented as free. Unfortunately, considering the huge amount of adware that its installer comes with, the fact that it's free is hardly remaining relevant.
Free AVI Player sticks to what its name says and supports only AVI files. That's actually a disadvantage for a modern video player, but at least we all expected this downside when it comes to a tool with such a self-explanatory name.
Though simplicity is always a nice treat, this tool took this matter a little too far. It's simple, small, and lightweight, but it also lacks many additional options and settings that one would expect a video player to have, such as sound equalizer, support for subtitles, and so on. It only supports playlists and that's it.
In conclusion, Free AVI Player is hardly an option to consider for me since I know that there are plenty of more powerful, more capable, and also free alternatives on the market. Unfortunately, Free AVI Player offers nothing to be truly attractive or remarkable.
